Transportation Manager



Provides leadership and guidance to all transportation personnel. Coordinates and recommends all department improvements to better utilize assets and personnel where needed. Monitors and calculates equipment requirements to maintain budget status. Advises and coordinates with the customer on transportation issues and to monitor their satisfaction. Initiates procedures to better track all missions, driver's performance, maintenance and accountability of everything that is transported via Bus, Taxi, Trucks and MHE (Material Handling Equipment) assets. Skills are acquired through completion of an undergraduate degree or 5-10 years’ experience in Logistics and Transportation with referenced experience in personnel management, supervision and administration preferred.

Must have the ability to work multiple task in a rigorous environment

Must have knowledge and background of vehicles and Material Handling Equipment (MHE) operations in the USAREUR Theater of Operations.

Proactive and conceptual thinker with superior work ethic

Self-motivated, energetic, team player with the ability to make decisions with little or no direct supervision

US Army Master Driver or equivalent desired

Must possess a Valid Class

A’ CDL license and have at least two-year’s general driving, “Over the Road,” experience

Knowledge of M1070/M1000 Heavy Equipment Transporter (HET) combination and the Palletized Loading System (PLS)

Direct activities related to dispatching, routing, maintenance and tracking of transportation vehicles at all times.

Plan, organize and manage the work of subordinate staff to ensure that the work is accomplished in a manner consistent with organizational and project requirements.

Implement schedule and policy changes.

Monitor operations to ensure that staff members comply with KBRWyle administrative policies and procedures, safety rules and USA government regulations.

Promote and enforce safe work activities by conducting safety audits, attending project safety meetings, and meetings with departmental staff members.

Monitor spending to ensure that expenses are consistent with approved project budgets.

Set operations policies and standards, including adherence to safety procedures for the handling and transport of dangerous goods.

Conduct employee training sessions on subjects such as hazardous material handling, employee orientation, quality improvement and computer use.

Provide administrative and technical assistance to customers receiving transportation-related shipments.

Collaborate with other managers and staff members in order to formulate and implement transportation policies, procedures, goals, and objectives.
