Mechanic (Track Wheel)
Diagnose and troubleshoots malfunctions, performs organization maintenance and on board direct support tasks on the suspension systems, steering systems, hydraulic systems, auxiliary power units, fire extinguisher/suppression systems, gas particulate system, vehicular mounted armament, gun turret drive system and the fire control system on the M1/M1A1 tank. Must perform repairs and preventive maintenance checks and service. Test lead acid batteries for serviceability; prepare vehicles for operation under abnormal conditions by sealing, waterproofing and servicing and special fuel and lubricants. Performs unit maintenance to correct malfunctions of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems or components. Tunes engines and replaces repair parts and components as outlined in the appropriate maintenance allocation charts. Tests and operates vehicles and equipment as required and observes for evidence of abnormal operation. Operates, or assists in the operation of track vehicles in conjunctions with maintenance and recovery operation.
Additional requirements :
Must be fluent in English
Must possess passport book with at least 15 months of remaining validity AND with at least 6 blank visa/stamp pages remaining
Must possess driver’s license with at least 6 months of remaining validity
