We are currently seeking applications from experienced and enthusiastic facilitators, with experience in the Royal Australian Navy (RAN) Communications and Information Systems Branch.
There are multiple short term contractor vacancies on offer between January 2019 and July 2020. The roles will be located at HMAS Cerbrus in Victoria (FIFO arrangements will be considered).
As a Course Facilitator, you will deliver the RAN Communications Systems Training Packages, whilst providing specialist Communication Information Systems (CIS) advice and guidance to Course Managers in the delivery of the training.
You will also provide specialist subject matter expertise to training developers for the improvement and/or amendment of training packages and learning materials. To do this, you will be required to work as part of a dynamic, high performing team.
This is a challenging role that will require you to be a self-starter, who is able to work independently as well as part of a small team. Your well-developed facilitation skills will be demonstrated by the delivery of high quality course outcomes, whilst working to strict course schedules and rapidly integrating into an existing team.
To be successful in this role, you will be able to:
prepare and deliver pre-developed technical courseware to RAN sailors from the Communications Category to a high standard;
provide subject matter expertise to training developers and course managers;
participate in course coordination and design meetings;
strictly comply with course milestones, schedules and training programs; and
as required, assist with the amendment and further development of learning packages.
Successful candidates will possess:
a working knowledge of adult learning principles (Certificate IV in Training and Assessment is desirable);
strong skills in the delivery of technical courseware for the purposes of adult education;
an awareness of current blended learning components; such as part-task trainers, simulators, virtual training devices (desirable);
excellent verbal and non-verbal communication skills;
experience working within the Communications Category of the Royal Australian Navy (essential);
Australian Citizenship and preferably hold or be able to obtain an NV2 Australian Defence Security Clearance.
