Position Title: Principal Technical Professional – Structural
KBR is seeking a Principal Technical Professional – Structural.
Functional job responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
• Under general supervision, independently applies advanced engineering techniques, makes decisions on engineering problems and methods, and represents the organization in conferences to resolve important questions or to negotiate with key engineers and officials of other organizations. Provides technical guidance to designers and less experienced engineers and is consulted extensively by associates and others with a high degree of reliance placed on scientific interpretations and advice. Job role is responsible for a measurable asset such as an assigned staff and budget.
Skills are typically acquired through an undergraduate degree in Engineering and a minimum of 10 years of related experience, with average experience of 15
years of professional working experience
Emphasis on structural steel and concrete design for heavy industrial projects.
Work independently to complete the design of mill additions, modifications and green field projects
Be able to perform preliminary design sufficient to support construction material take offs in support of construction cost estimates
Communicate with clients and receive instruction for progressing project designs and be able to guide designers and other engineers working on an assigned project.
Check the calculations and drawings produced by other engineers/designers in the department in accordance with company and department quality control standards.
Registration as a Licensed Professional Engineer is preferred.
Proficiency in STAAD structural analysis software is required.
Assignments will require conducting plant walk downs and wearing pulp and paper or chemical plant PPE, climbing ladders and stairs.
