Position Title:

Sr. Manager, Procurement & Materials

Position Description/Job Responsibilities

Functional job responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

Directly responsible for the oversight of the Project Procurement and Materials team and the profit/loss of a revenue center, major product line, or support function.

Accountable for the overall identification of Procurement and Material resources for business requirements.

Develops, implements, and enforces the compliance of company global procurement and materials policies, builds supplier rapport, negotiates with strategic suppliers, and coordinates activities to meet the needs and productivity of an operation.

Under broad direction, is accountable for the performance and results of multiple related disciplines or sub-groups within a function.

Manages the delivery of functional objectives by providing leadership and direction to senior managers or professional staff.

Functional job responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Manages the entire Project Procurement scope, including directing and coordinating Category Buyers, Expediting, Logistics, Inspection and Material Management on an assigned project

  • Is responsible for all deliverables such as project specific terms and conditions, man-hour estimates, staffing plan, project schedule, execution plans

  • Establishes project procurement procedures to ensure deliverables meet the individual client and project requirements

  • Responsible for appropriately executed Procurement in terms of: safety, compliance to rules and regulations, quality, schedule and budget

  • Identifies problems early and coordinates with the project procurement team to correct

  • Proactively manages changes

  • Ensures effective communications among project disciplines

  • Works closely with Engineering and Project Management Team

  • Assures that problems are reported timely to the project management and Senior Procurement Management Team

  • Reviews project status with clients, management and project leads

  • Reports and communicate actively with Senior Procurement Management Team



  • Bachelor’s Degree, coupled with C.P.M. or CPSM certification; preferred

  • Proven track record in cost reduction programs

  • Experience with e-procurement tools, such as e-bidding or e-auctions

  • Clear written and verbal communication and presentation skills in order to flow goals and directives

  • Ability to work in a complex schedule driven work environment

  • Procurement experience in “lump-sum” business

  • Willingness to travel worldwide on short notice

  • International experience, Middle East preferred

  • Experience in working with Suppliers from China, India, Korea and other high value centers

  • At least ten

years’ experience in Project Procurement Management
