The incumbent will be responsible for planning and managing Government Services Project resource needs. Development and implementation of the GS strategic resourcing objectives and execution plan.
Responsible for managing the allocation of appropriate GS talent to projects based upon resource availability, capability, and team chemistry. Also be responsible for tracking and reporting on availability and proactively acting upon utilization challenges.
In addition, work closely with Business Acquisition, Business Development and Operations to ensure proper visibility into resource needs on a long term and weekly, ad hoc, basis working in tandem with discipline leads to select and confirm resource decisions. The role will work closely with Human Resources who will conduct salary and contractual negotiations and arrange interviews and complete HR engagement processes.
Working with Operations and discipline leads to identify resource strengths and weaknesses, training requirements to ensure proper staffing.
Resource planning, sourcing and utilization management and make staffing recommendations in concert with Operations and discipline leads.
Propose staffing options to project assignment needs that align with skills, professional goals, and/or staffing preferences
Manage resource requests for GS by validating requirements and identifying candidates
Advise delivery team on how best way to engage in the resource management processes, and recommend improvements for efficiency
Utilize all available Resource Management tools to identify candidates and develop creative staffing solutions for open resource requests
Resolve staffing conflicts to the satisfaction of all parties, which may include identifying alternatives and negotiating with delivery teams, discipline leads and resources
Update and manage Resource Management reporting
Skills and Experience
Ideally have tertiary qualification
Will ideally have experience in an engineering, operational or Project Management role.
Understanding of the composition of Project staffing structures and processes
Strong critical thinking, analysis, and problem-solving skills
Strong written and oral communication skills
Ability to manage and resolve complex and sensitive situations
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with large teams
Proficient emotional intelligence, including self-awareness, self-regulation & empathy
Proficiency with MS Office tools: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook
