Production Technician I

General Description – Production Technician

Under direct supervision, works within the Pre-Processing, Dryer Loadout, and Ag-Bag Storage areas performing tasks that support and maintain plant production. Completes and reviews records, maintains tools and equipment, and performs various clean-up activities. Observes and adheres all safety rules and procedures, including wearing required PPE and safety equipment.

Specific Description – Production Technician

The Production Technician includes the following tasks;

Move stover bales from trucks, destring stover bales (collect & manage string), and load bales into the grinder to prepare for processing. Includes operation of various conveying systems and mobile equipment (fork truck) to transport ground material into downstream processing equipment.

Transport lignin from the lignin load out building to ag bags, fill the ag bags, unload ag bags, and transport lignin to reclaim unloading system for outbound processing. Includes operation of various conveying equipment and mobile equipment (fork truck).

Daily Housekeeping will be required during process down times and up times. Housekeeping will include grounds keeping, elevated cleaning and equipment cleaning. Operation of industrial vacuum cleaning equipment is included

Work scope involves working with our supply scheduler, process technicians, and the logistics team to optimize the flow of material.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Full compliance with and complete understanding of DuPont Site safety procedures and practices, with emphasis on work specific tasks executed on a routine basis.

Operate powered industrial equipment to transport stover from onsite storage areas to the plant and various locations around the plant and load the pre-processing conveyors.

Ensure work areas and process areas open to the outside are clean and dust is controlled per environmental requirements

Work with fellow co-workers and process technicians

Communicate effectively verbally and in writing regarding: division of tasks, shift handover, e-mail, problem resolution, feedback, process documentation, etc.

Work in an organized and safe manner; address safety and housekeeping concerns

Contribute to continuous improvement through observations, attention to detail and follow through

Demonstrate appropriate safety behaviors and commitment

Qualifications – Production Technician

High School Diploma/GED

Flexible work schedule (willing to work overtime, off-shift, and on short notice, call-in’s)

Capable of working in dusty, hot/cold conditions

Capable of becoming respirator fit-tested

Capable of operating industrial mobile equipment (fork truck)

Must be able to ascend/descend stairs, ladders, elevated walkways, lift 50 lbs. single person – 80 lbs. w/two persons, walk, stand, stoop for long periods of time, work in tight congested areas to include awkward positions.

rnating week work hours are 36 hrs. and 48 hrs. days 6:00am > 6:00pm / nights 6:00pm to 6:00am.

This is a Maintenance Position. Must be willing to work outside your craft and multi task.
