Position Title: Associate Technical Professional - Piping
KBR is seeking a Associate Technical Professional Piping. Functional job responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
• Under direct supervision, candidate will independently evaluate, select, and apply standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria.
Upon gaining additional experience, candidate will assist in responsibilities associated with engineering and design of piping systems for projects in the chemical, power, industrial, or forest products industries.
Duties may include piping system layout and design using 2D AutoCAD or 3D PDMS softwares, performing piping stress analysis using Caesar II software, design and selection of piping support systems, pipe sizing and wall thickness calculations, and pump hydraulic analysis. Duties may require travel to jobsites to aquire field data and information, as well as assisting client and construction personnel with installation and problem resolution.
Candidate will report to the lead discipline engineer on assigned projects.
Under broad direction, supervises and leads a group of engineers and designers. Provides technical direction to the assigned group and is responsible for designs and management of the assigned staff, project manhour budget, and project schedule.
Coordinates and interacts with other design disciplines, clients, vendors, and construction personnel when necessary.
Travel to client jobsites is required.
• This is an entry-level position and requires a BSME degree.
Having successfully passed the FE exam, and previous work experience as a co-op or intern in the chemical, power, industrial, or forest products industries is a plus.
Candidate must be versed in the use of Microsoft Office suite of software.
Manual drafting, 2D AutoCAD and/or 3D CAD experience is desired but not a requirement.
Candidate must be able to read engineering drawings, trouble shoot engineering issues, and be a creative thinker with the ability to visualize new designs and convey them to paper.
Candidate must have a keen desire to gain an understanding of how industrial processes work in making a finished product.
Periodic travel to jobsites, client facilities, or other KBR offices is required in this position.
